Love This Coldbrew Bottle

This is actually my 2nd bottle as I am a bit accident prone :) I love this bottle and can't live without it! It makes the coldbrew Matcha perfectly. I probably will be purchasing another in the near future as a back up. It's a great product for a great price.

Love This Coldbrew Bottle

As a first time purchaser of Coldbrew Matcha I wanted to make sure the experience was a positive one. I decided to purchase the bottle and glad I did. It's a quality bottle, has a protective "sleeve" coating and lid has a rubber seal ring. It makes mixing the powdered tea a breeze. 15 seconds and the product is mixed perfectly. Very happy with my purchase.

Coldbrew bottle

This is a very high-quality, well-designed bottle. Even with vigorous shaking there’s no leaking at all, and the silicon sleeve gives it a nice feel and grip. It’s also an attractive addition to my kitchen counter, as I’m making the coldbrew every day and it never gets put away.

Coldbrew Bottle

This is the perfect bottle for coldbrew. The clean, modern design with its wide opening make it easy to shake up a perfectly “brewed” matcha. The glass is very high quality and the rubber sleeve gives the bottle a frosted look. Easy to carry with you, and easy to drink from. . . very pleased with this product!

Easy to use and great addition to my day

I love that I found this product. I've started drinking matcha as a substitute for coffee. I use it everyday with the single serve cold brew so I can have matcha anywhere throughout the day.

I add water with a couple ice cubes and shake the bottle to chill the water. After I scoop out the ice with a spoon I add the matcha then shake a again. Getting another bottle as a backup. Definitely interested in trying the regular/warm matcha.

must have for cold brewing

I recently received the cold brew bottle and it's better than expected. The glass is very good quality, not thin, and the smooth and sleek line of the bottle with the grip strip make blending the matcha a breeze. So glad I made this purchase

Besides being beautiful, this bottle is the perfect size to mix cold brew matcha and is very easy to clean. It has a nice weight and the top provides a great seal so that nothing leaks. Love Breakway Matcha and all their products! Highly recommend!

Perfect bottle for coldbrew!

The perfect size for mixing coldbrew matcha. Sturdy with tight fitting cap allows for vigorous shaking. Certainly much more elegant than the mason jars I was using and great for travel. I thought the green band was decorative and etched into the glass, but it is a silicone-like sleeve that is ribbed allowing for a good grip when the glass is sweating and protects your hand from the cold glass.

Love it

Great way to enjoy matcha. I was drinking cold brew out of a coffee thermos, but it was hard to clean and old matcha residue would get stuck in crevices and turn a nasty brown color over time. This bottle is much easier to clean and I like being able to see the beverage so I know when it's mixed well enough to drink. It does sweat, but that's going to be true of any glass container. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Absolute perfection!!

As soon as I received this I washed it and immediately made my first glass of cold brew matcha. I love this bottle. It is the perfect size for a few ice cubes, matcha and a 16.9 oz bottle of water. Not to mention beautiful and stylish! I also have to mention that Eric obviously loves his customers and products. The package was so neatly presented with a lot of personal touches. I really appreciate this in small businesses. I have yet to order matcha from here but that is next on my list when I run out of my current stash. Eric's attention to detail really made me decide to be a return customer. Order anything from Breakaway Matcha, you won't be disappointed!!

Best Bottle to Mix Matcha!

I'm a new matcha drinker but have had trouble mixing many of the brands I've tried. This is the best! I like that it is small as I've got crazy child sized hands and have no problem shaking with this. It has a beautiful design and the top seals completely. It won't leak as you shake. I highly recommend!

Chemistry class construction (Great)

This bottle is definitely made of borosilicate which is an excellent glass for its potential uses. This bottle exceeds other cold brew bottles I'm dabbled with and feels firm to the hand. I initially thought the green band around the middle was purely aesthetic but lo and behold it serves a purpose. It moderates the feel when there is acute temperature liquid inside. I am so enamored with this bottle I had to order multiple. Although I admire the upkeep of traditional matcha drink ware and would love to purchase some my chemistry foundation only allows me to drink out pyrex like chem-glass grade products to minimize impurities.

Perfect Container

This is a great container to make the coldbrew matcha. The tea mixed easily and it kept the tea cold for quite a while. A very nice design and sturdy. Will take it with me when I travel.

Your Questions Answered

Mainly because the farmers and processors care so much; their processes take longer, require more steps, and are just harder. They’re pretty obsessed with producing Japan’s tastiest and healthiest matcha, and we don’t mind paying them well for the extraordinary product they produce. Rarity comes into it as well -- some blends, especially the named blends (Kamakura, Rikyu, Jizo, Hikari, Satoshi, and Daphne) have extremely limited production. These teas are hard to produce.

No. No sugar, additives, or any other nonsense. It’s 100% extraordinary green tea leaves, ground up into a fine powder.

Location on the tea plant, mainly. Hyperpremium is the baby leaves; we only use the newest growth. Imagine baby vegetables, baby herbs, microgreens. They haven’t had much time to develop much molecular complexity, so there are no bitter or astringent notes, just clean, chlorophyll-packed umami.

Leaves used for coldbrew are slightly older, and have a little more biocomplexity to them. That complexity does add some bitterness and astringency, but it’s undetectable when prepared with ice water, so it tastes rich and creamy. Yields are tiny for the hyperpremium, and yields are bigger with coldbrew (the leaves themselves weigh more, and are larger, hence bigger yields).

This term has lost most of its meaning. Because there is no governing body of any type that monitors/controls what can be labeled ceremonial, anyone can -- and does -- use this moniker to connote quality, even though much of the “ceremonial” matcha on the marketplace is in fact barely culinary -- much of it could be better described as “industrial.”

Moreover, many tea ceremonies in Japan notoriously serve sub-par matcha. In the end, many of the ceremonies aren’t really about tea at all, they’re about choreography and pedigree. Sometimes the teas are tasty, but more often they’re oxidized and bitter and astringent; hallmarks of culinary (or worse) matcha.

Some people insist on organic (generally for good reasons), so we searched hard for years and finally found what we feel is the tastiest and best organic matcha in the domestic Japanese market. However, our conventionally grown matcha is utterly safe, and it tends to taste better because its umami/amino acid structure is more pronounced.
